List of Fun Things to Do on Your Anniversary

1. Start Your Celebration Early.

You’re a couple for a reason; therefore, you might want to start with a surprise morning tea, sweet words in their ear, the favorite meal which you must have prepared over the night not to keep you too busy away from your partner’s side, perhaps pastries or fruit with champagne. Then get up early on a special day and go out together to view the sunrise (if you have a sunrise view, not all of us get to enjoy that before you enjoy a romantic early morning meal as a couple.

2. Cook a Perfect Meal for Two

Food and romance have appealed to someone’s heart throughout history. You can quickly get your partner’s attention with a good meal and have some intriguing conversation over the dinner table or in the kitchen; this could be the best anniversary celebration ever. Going out for dinner is a fancy way to attract your partner, or as the classic date night, we can all agree on that.

Regardless, I will choose cooking dinner together at home as a couple can be far more romantic and create intimacy. Not to mention some memorable fun you both will have if you happen to be nothing short of disasters in the kitchen or two great chefs practicing their skills!

3. Spend Some Quality Time Together

The best luxury is letting go and doing nothing with your time, especially on your anniversary. For couples who are always on the go, serving each other breakfast in bed, enjoying a movie marathon, having a competitive day of video games, or are all in for relaxation and romance, there are endless ways to celebrate your anniversary without leaving the bedroom. Whatever it is, enjoy each other company and live the moment

4. Play Game

From video games, arcades, and board games to mini-golf, physically active games. You can play many games indoors, outdoors or that aren’t too far from home. Depending on your agreement, you can call up a couple in a one-night friendly competition all night or a long-day activity. At the same time, the loser buys the winner a drink!

5. Book a Couple’s Spa Day

Everyone could use a little TLC every once in a while. Find a local spa and book a few couples treatments at a nearby retreat and enjoy some rejuvenating downtime with one another. Consider it your anniversary gift, but it will ensure you can completely indulge in some much-needed treatment, professional wellness treatment, massages, or even manicure /pedicure, deep relaxation. You’ll emerge just as rejuvenated as your love for each other.

6. Special Weekend Get Away

Nothing is more romantic, relieving, reviving, and carefree than shutting out from your daily exhausting activities and spending it with the love of your life in any hideaway apartment or in a cabin. Getaways help you to live a life of fulfillment for the weekend. You don’t have to break the bank to achieve this; you only need a plan and a small budget.

7. Take a romantic bath

Spend the evening soaking together to warm things up while setting the mood by lighting candles, playing soft music, popping, sipping your champagne with a specially crafted couple wine glass, and snacking on chocolate, strawberries ice cream by the side as well. It’s like made in heaven with a hot tub date, full of relaxation and romance. This romantic anniversary idea is top-notch for some luxurious and fun soaking baths.

8. Take a Trip to an Exotic Location

It is even more challenging for couples to make time for one another in the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, especially when you’ve started a family. However, having some alone is a must for such a couple, so why not plan to go on a trip to your local exotic places where you can experience peaceful nature or beautiful city views? One of my bucket lists is to visit a few of our top national sightseeing places.
I remember taking the whole family to visit one of the national animal packs; it was fun, but I would have even been more romantic if I didn’t worry about my kids’ guidance and safety. That’s what I want to experience, just some peaceful, beautiful, and adventurous time with my husband. That’s one of the easy and enjoyable ways to have a grand anniversary celebration. Completely just us.

9. Spend the Day in Bed

Not getting out of bed is the most relaxing thing to do for your anniversary. Give up all the chores, take the day off and spend a lazy afternoon (and night!) in bed. Spending some quality time together in bed and ignoring to do your regular daily routine, enjoy your day appreciating and lazy in bed talking, cuddling, gossiping, laughing, and much more wink wink

10. Do Something from Your Bucket Lists

Get inspiration from your bucket lists if you need help figuring out what ideas to do on your anniversary. You may have to plan and save towards your ideal anniversary if it involves a budget, but it would be worth all the memorable time together on your anniversary. So instead, choose something your partner has been longing to do, or brainstorm an anniversary idea you’d like to tick off your list. For example, you might see a favorite band or travel to a dreamed-of destination.

11. Special Date-Night Restaurant

Celebrate your love in that exotic dream restaurant you wouldn’t usually visit. You may have to spend more than usual, but what’s more romantic than when your partner lavishes on you, especially on your anniversary? So, wear that unique dress, sweet fragrance, light make-up, nicely done hair, comfortable shoe, beautiful clutch, and dangling earrings, and don’t forget your red lipstick. Order what you will enjoy and love to eat; watch out for the new menu and enjoy your candlelight dinner.

12. Plant a Love Tree

Plant a love tree together as a memorable way to see how your love has grown over the year. Frankly, it doesn’t matter what type of plant it is. All that matters is that there’s something incredibly romantic about planting seeds and watching them grow in tandem with your love. Imagine several anniversaries from now looking at a sturdy sapling or flowering vine that you nurtured together.

13. Make out!

With time, you can forget how much you enjoyed kissing, cuddling, caressing, and staring at your partner when you were first together. So relive those exciting early days with a romantic make-out session.

14. Give Gifts

Who doesn’t enjoy celebrating love? Especially when you adore your partner. Anniversaries are one of the days you can celebrate your partner’s wonderfulness. Giving gifts during the anniversary reaffirms that they’re head over heels for each other and express your gratitude for each other’s love, care, and time.

15. Send a Balloon Arrangement

While flowers are always appreciated, try something new with this anniversary. Send a balloon to your partner with “Happy Anniversary” scripted into one of the balloons. You can also get balloons shaped like the number of your anniversary or make one another’s names into balloons. If anything, they will make a fun backdrop for pictures to remember the occasion.

16. Sunset Boat Ride

If you’re lucky enough to live by the beach or a lake, head out to enjoy it together. Take kayaks for an adventurous date or rent a boat for a more leisurely time. This is the time for some severe romantic evening. Be sure to pack some snacks for the trip.

17. Go a Road Trip

Have you always wanted to visit the small town close by, but haven’t gotten around to it? Make a day of exploring somewhere new together by going on a quick road trip.

Are some particular songs attached to some memories, especially positive ones, of your relationship? Make a playlist of them and listen through it during your anniversary day, or why not on any random evening you’re both in the mood for some music listening.

19. Attend A Sports Game

Whether or not you’re both sports enthusiasts, seeing a game can offer a fun and entertaining outlet. The energy and novelty of the game atmosphere can be a lot of fun, and who knows, it might spark a future sports-fan passion and a new venue for your dates.

20. Relive Your Wedding Day

Pack a picnic and head to the local park for a romantic date if your anniversary is during the warmer months. The best part is that it’s nearly free!

Whether you have an abundance of selfies or you’re the couple that’s just not into photos, having at least one portrait together is something you’ll grow to cherish. Hire a professional for your photos to create a photo album. Pick a meaningful or a memorial location to snap a few shots of you and your partner. Then, you can look back on the final prints year after year.

23. Attend a Concert

Music can be a fantastic way to get the night moving; book your favorite type of live music—jazz, rock, classical, or whatever makes your heart skip a beat. At most jazz clubs, you’ll find smooth tunes, luxurious elegance, and the opportunity to dress up and show off to each other. Or, for more variety, go bar hopping along a street known for its live music.

24. Attend a Karaoke Night

Are you looking forward to some high-energy romance for your anniversary? Then, go out for a karaoke night with your loved one and show them all of your affection by singing your love song.

25. Renew Your Vow

If you have been married for a long time, consider having a renewal of vows ceremony to strengthen your bond and rekindle your love for each other.

Vow renewals are a touching way to commemorate your love and reaffirm the vows you made on your wedding day. Though there are no rules as to when to renew your vows, most couples do it on a milestone anniversary like the 5th, 10th, or 25th year, and so on.
Did you know that US citizens can receive a free anniversary greeting from the President of the United States on their 50th, 60th, or 70th wedding anniversary?

26. Do Something Adventurous

Sometimes, planning romantic dates when you have a family isn’t feasible on your anniversary day. However, you can still make this an extraordinary family event. First, take your spouse and kids on a picnic, hike, or destination bike ride. Then, you can enjoy your couple’s romance in the evening.

27. Throw a Party

You won’t be penalized for hosting a party to celebrate your anniversary. An anniversary is a perfect avenue to gather your loved ones for a party. Invite your family, colleagues, and friends to celebrate your love together. If you’re a party freak, then go ahead and give your partner and everyone a way to celebrate.

Put together an elegant backyard party or stage a throwback to your wedding, complete with a dance floor. This anniversary idea works well for those key milestones, like your 10, 20, and 25-year anniversaries.

28. Share Your Feelings

You should take a week or some days to write mini toasts to each other, share your affection during your relationship, then read to each other on your anniversary. It means a lot when you think about why you love someone, then share it with them.

29. Walk Around A Botanical Garden

A Garden is where people feel loved, walking in the pleasant sights and smells on a stroll holding hands through a local botanical or florist garden. You’ll appreciate nature’s beauty, smell, color, and shape together, and it won’t be a quickly forgotten day for you and your partner!

30. Live Up Your Sex Life

Spice up your love life by trying a few different sexual positions. If a boring missionary has become standard in your relationship, look at the kama sutra and discover many exciting new ideas that will spark things up in the bedroom.

31. Do Task You Don’t Normal Do

Although it may not seem a particularly romantic idea, your partner will truly appreciate it if you try to help with tasks you never normally do around the house. For example, take over cooking dinner, helping the kids, or doing the laundry. Your partner will love it!

32. Find an Activity that Both of You would Enjoy

If the two of you are interested in the outdoors, being active, or exploring something new, or the combination of all three, perhaps it’s time to take your Anniversary date on a hike?

Not to mention you get to enjoy the beautiful nature around you and, if you choose a less beaten path, you’ll be quite secluded in simply the company of each other.

33. Surprise Him or Her with Love Notes

Writing letters or short notes to each other is one activity I will encourage every couple to practice regularly. For example, writing each other a romantic love letter and hiding it somewhere in your home, the car, or work bag where your partner can find it (love divine). They will be surprised and touched by your thoughtfulness.

34. Cut Off the Technology

Yup, you’ve read that right. Every once in a while, it’s good to take a break from all the tech stuff, especially if it means you get to spend more time with your loved one.

Spending some quality time together as a couple can’t be overrated. So take the day off work, ignore your phone, and leave your emails unanswered. Instead, enjoy the day by yourselves, simply appreciating each other’s company, and get in touch again with the true meaning of your lives together.

35. Start a Tradition

A new tradition in your relationship will help keep it healthy and exciting and remind you that you’re family. Therefore, you should share ideas with your partner on what traditional family practice you would like to add and keep to your relationship or family.
Even simple ones like always going to bed together, having an “us” time every Friday night, or even making new traditions each anniversary goes a long way in strengthening your bond with each other.

That wraps up the list of things you can do for your anniversaries. I hope these anniversary ideas have made this milestone in your lives more memorable.
Though life may sometimes get the better of you through work, chores, and many others, always find time to remember why you fell in love in the first place and to reflect on how the years have shaped you both for the better.
Here’s to more years of love, celebrating, and living your life together. Happy Anniversary, you two!

“Every day, continue to love each other more and more. Happy Anniversary!”
